Suede leather , also known as chamois leather , has its origin mainly in elk, although it is not an exclusive source, since it is also obtained from lamb, goat, calf or pig. The final product is obtained from the inner part of the skin. Suede is very soft, extremely thin and very ductile, although not as resistant as the two skins we will talk about below. Therefore, it is ideal for making quality footwear . On the other hand, split leather is obtained from the lower layer of the skin, which is mechanically divided and then a surface treatment is applied to it that gives it great resistance.
